PTO MEETING
OCT 21ST, 2025
Called to Order: Meeting called to order at 6:33pm.
Treasurers Report: Full report posted on website. Current balance is $7403.19.
Old Business: Popsicle membership drive resulted in a record 52 member families! Chick-fil-a spirit night raised $424. Kroger rewards members increased by 11.
New Business: President Andrew Sharp reviewed the proposed yearly budget for the PTO. It was Moved, Seconded, and Passed unanimously. Proposed amendment to a current by-law that teachers and staff are not required to pay the membership fee for their families to be active PTO members. Moved, Seconded, and Passed unanimously. Another proposed amendment to an existing by law to change the language from required meetings every month to at least 4 months a year. Moved, Seconded,
and Passed unanimously. If additional meetings are called there will be at least 2 weeks notice given to the member families. Glow Dance date and event was proposed for the last day of Kindness week in January. The date of the dance will be January 30th, 2026 with a snow date of February 6, 2025. Ms. Spence will have the students in art class create a “Glow Gallery” for display at the dance. Moved, Seconded, and Passed unanimously.
Upcoming: Fall Festival will be this Friday at 4:30 to 6pm with a family movie at 6:30pm. There will be a cake walk and individually wrapped pastries will be needed. Reminder that any interest of the board positions for next year, or any interest in shadowing an officer just reach out to the PTO.
Principals Report: Fall Fest will be Friday. Career on wheels will be Oct 24 for the students. Mcgavock High School is sending 11 academies to explain different careers that the students there are working towards. The STEAM Room part of the DREAM plan that is MS. Gonzalez's vision for the school is underway. Another part of that vision is a teacher's ZEN room. Report cards will go home this Thursday. The Parent Assessment Workshop will be held on October 29th 5:30 to 6:30 pm. The Halloween parade
will be held on the blacktop if weather permits at 8am on Oct 30th. The Book vending machine has been purchased and should arrive in the coming weeks. The 5th grade will be having an end of school year field trip to Chattanooga.
