Hi Pennington Family!
My name is Devin Sanders and I want to THANK YOU those who responded to our
PTO Volunteer Interest Survey back in August! Thank you for your patience as we looked through responses and formed our game plan to bring parents in to volunteer at the school.
(Still need to complete the survey? Access it here). It is so fun to see what each of you bring to the table and how you can uniquely help make our school great. I truly believe that EVERYONE can do SOMETHING to support our students, teachers or school as a whole so thank you for being willing to step up to the plate and get involved in a way that utilizes your talents while also respecting your time and energy.
The first opportunity I want to make you all aware of is Lend A Hand Friday. We have had LAHF on August 14th but we are officially "launching" on September 11th. Look at the impact we made!
Throughout the week, teachers will be able to submit any requests they have to us and on Friday we will be spending the day helping knock those tasks out. The goal is to help lighten the load of these incredible (and busy) teachers. We of course cannot accomplish every task or even say yes to every request but we will use the volunteers we have every Friday to do as much as we can to support our Pennington staff.
Lend A Hand Fridays will start as soon as drop off ends so if you get your kiddo inside and need to go grab a cup of coffee and come back, do that! We will try to get started as soon as possible so just look for either myself or Kirstin or Emily and we will get you a job to start on. Feel free to come and go as needed throughout the day.
The goal is to host Lend A Hand Friday every week, but depending on availability of PTO leaders and volunteers, this may change. Any Lend A Hand Friday cancellations will be announced on our social accounts as early as possible.
A second opportunity to serve: I am also including a link for the
PTO 2026-2027 Amazon Wishlist. If we can collect these items, Lend A Hand Fridays won't be spent running around the school looking for things to take care of these tasks. If you (or anyone you know) are looking for a way to give to the PTO but are unable to volunteer during the week, feel free to spend them the link:) Items such as staplers and scissors are included, nothing crazy.
Visit our 2026-2027 Amazon Wishlist Thank you to everyone who is ALREADY supporting our school. I'm excited to see what's to come for our amazing school! If you have any questions, feel free to email me vol@penningtonpto.org or reach out on our
PTO Whatsapp! Community Volunteer Network (Join Here).
