PTO Meeting Minutes 1/20/26
Call to Order: Meeting called to order by President Andrew Sharp at 6:32pm.
Treasurer Report: Current balance $8190.87 Full report available online.
New Business: Skate Night for Wed, April 8th 6-8pm was proposed and discussed. Moved, 2nd, and voted approved unanimously. The upcoming Glow Dance that will be held on Friday Jan 30th 5:30 to 7:30 pm was discussed. The needs and how to sign up for volunteers. Supplies that have been purchased. The upcoming PTO meetings schedule was announced and they will be Feb 17, March 17, and April 21st all at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria.
Staff Report: Given by Mrs. Hardin, Pennington will be participating in the upcoming Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee. The events are being sponsored by the Tennessee Titans. This is the first year to be participating and hopefully will expand the event in future years. The first rounds will be held this Thursday and Friday. The Final round for the school will be held next Thursday and Friday. The school winner will be able to qualify to go further online and if they qualify will represent Pennington in the District rounds. Possibility to proceed to the National event held in Washington D.C.
Ms. Menchaca discussed an upcoming Fundraiser that will benefit the Exceptional Education department at Pennington, it is a Polar Plunge that will be held at Nissan Stadium in partnership with the Special Olympics. The event will be held on Feb 28th. Info will be available on the PTO website or contact Mrs. Menchaca.
Principal’s Report: The new book vending machine has been installed and will be in use in late February. The books will be vending by students using a coin that will be provided when the students earn them. Fastbridge testing will be this and next week. Contact your students' teacher for the exact day or days they will be testing if you would like to know. Kindness week will be next week and Progress Reports will be going home on Feb 5th.
